.INTRODUCTION:

The reformation brought in the field of nursing by Florence Nightingale had resulted in a change in the outlook of nursing in India. A need was felt for professional nursing care for the British troops, which led to the establishment of Army Nursing Services in 1881 in Britain, subsequently, the Military Nursing Service in India started in March 1888, when the first batch of British Army Nurses arrived in India to serve in the hospitals for British troops. The nursing service was designated the Indian Army Nursing Service (IANS) in 1896. In 1902, Queen Alexandra became the first president of the British Army Nursing Service in United Kingdom and a year later IANS was converted into Queen Alexandra’s Military Nursing for India (QAMNS).

During the First World War, dire need of nursing care for Indian soldiers was recognized and a Temporary Indian Nursing Service (TINS) was started in 1914. Indian Military Nursing Service

On 01st October 1926, it was decided to have a permanent nursing service in the Indian Army and the nursing service for Indian troop hospitals came into being with a total number of 55 nurses. In 1927, the designation of the Nursing Service for Indian troop hospital was changed to Indian Military Nursing Service .With the outbreak of World war II in 1939, 313 nurses were sanctioned for the nursing services for the British Army stationed in India,
including 55 nurses of the Indian Military Nursing Service.

Registration for online applications will open from- 11 May 2022 to 31 May 2022 on Age Conditions - born between 1st October 1997 to 30 September 2005(both days inclusive)

Applications are invited fromFEMALE CANDIDATES (only)for admission to 4 years B Sc. (Nursing) course 2022. On successful completion of Nursing Training (4 years), the candidates will be granted Permanent/Short Service Commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the Terms and Conditions laid down for grant of such Commission.

lt is mandatory for all candidates desirous of seeking admission for BSc Nursing course at AFMS institutions to :

1. Register and apply at the website https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/
2. Qualify NEET (UG) - 2022 condubted by National Testing Agency (NTA)
3. Upload their NEET (UG) - 2022 score when asked to do so.

.Eligibility Conditions:
(a) Female candidates who are unmarried/divorcee/legally separated/widow without encumbrances.
(b) Nationality-Citizen of India
(c) Date of Birth-Born between 01 Oct 1997 and 30 Sep 2005 (both days inclusive).
(d) Educational Qualification - Candidates must have passed in the first attempt,Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent (12 Years schooling) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English with not less than 50% aggregate marks as a regular student from a Statutory / Recognized Board /University/ Examination Body. Candidates who will be appearing for final year of qualifying examination during the current academic session may also apply provisionally.The candidates finally selected for the course will have to submit proof of passing the qualifying examination with requisite subjects and marks before joining the course.

(e) NEET (UG) 2022 score – Candidate seeking admission for BSc Nursing course at AFMS institutions will have to mandatorily qualify the NEET (UG) 2022 examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). (f) Physical standards -Medical fitness of the candidate is decided as per the medical fitness standards and criteria prescribed for grant of Commission in the Armed Forces as amended from time to time. The minimum height required for entry into Armed Forces for female candidates is 152 cm. Candidates from Hill and Northeastern States will be accepted with a minimum height of 147 cm..

.Selection Process:
The shortlisted candidates based on merit of NEET (UG) score will be called for an Objective Computer Based Test (CBT) of General Intelligence and General English (ToGIGE) of 80 marks. Thereafter, the candidates will be subjected to a Psychological Assessment Test (PAT), Interview and Medical Examination at a designated venue. Final selection will be based on combined merit of NEET (UG) 2022 score, CBT and Interview, subject to medical fitness.

.Short listings through NEET (UG) score:
The registration numbers (Reference No) of the candidates who are shortlisted for screening at designated venue based on NEET (UG) - 2022 merit will be displayed at the website https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/. The shortlisted candidates will be called for ToGlGE, PAT, Interview and Medical examination at a designated venue. The admit card for the same can be downloaded from https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/.

.Verification of Documents: All shortlisted candidates will be required to produce all original documents as listed in the admit card at the time of interview for verification. lt is the responsibility of the candidate to be in possession of all original documents at the time of Interview. The shortlisted candidates, if not in possession of documents as per eligibilfty criteria or at any stage of the selection process, if it is found that the information provided has been willfully concealed or misrepresented will lead to disqualification from the selection process / loss of candidaturer

.Test of General Intelliqence & General English th(ToGlGE):
Test of General Intelligence & General English (ToGlGE) will be in the form of Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 40 MCQs of two marks each for maximum marks of 80. There will be negative marks of 0.5 for every incorrect answer. These 40 questions will be required to be answered in 30 mins.

.Psychological Assessment Test (PAT):
The PAT is a qualifying examination and the score will not be considered for preparing final merit list.

.Interview:
.The candidates will be interviewed by a Board of Officers at a designated venue.

.Medical Examination:
All shortlisted candidates will undergo Special Medical Board (SMB) at a designated venue. Candidates declared FIT/UNFIT in medical examination will be informed about their medical status, including the procedure of requesting for Appeal Medical Board by the President Special Medical Board.

The selected candidates shall execute an Agreement/Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS), Armed Forces Medical Services at the time of admission. During training they will be provided with free ratlon, accommodation, uniform allowance and monthly stipend as per terms and conditions as amended from time to time. On successful completion of BSc Nursing course of four years, the candidates will be granted Permanent/short Service Commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms and conditions laid down for grant of such commission. In the event of withdrawal from the course, termination of training or refusal to accept Commission in the MNS, if offered, they will have to refund e Bond money Agreement/Bond executed.

The date of declaration of result from respective Universities will be the date of Commission for the candidates. The date of Commission determines the date of seniority in service among all candidates who have joined the course in the same year. The commencement and completion of course depends on the respective affiliated University norms. .How to apply:
1. Interested candidates (FEMALES ONLY) may register through https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/ which will be accessible from 11 May 2022 to 31 May 2022. The candidates will be able to register ONLINE by providing name, mobile number, email id and other details. The scanned copy of the required documents also needs to be uploaded in the prescribed size and format. The candidate's email id is the user id for this website and the candidate will select her own password. Candidates must remember their username and password for all future correspondence. Candidates are requested to make correction to the filled application form using the EDIT menu and ensure all corrections are made before final submission. No modification in the application will be possible after clicking the SUBMIT button.

2. All candidates (except SC/ST) will have to pay a sum of Rs 2001- only as application processing fee through ONLINE payment gateway. There is no applicdtion fee for SC/ST candidates. SC/ST candidates have to upload documentary proof. On successful completion of online payment a bank reference number (DU number) will be generated for the future correspondence of all candidates (except SC/ST) and a confirmation page will be displayed.
3. Candidates may take a printout of the duly filled application for further reference along with payment confirmation page 4. Once the process is complete candidates are provided with a provisional registration number (reference number). This number will be sent to the registered email id and phone number.
5. The notification to upload the NEET (UG) -2022 score will be published at https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/. Therefore candidates are requested to visit the website regularly for updates and upload NEET (UG) - 2022 scores when notified.
